Assistant Planner role at Watchfinder & Co. in New York. Manage pre-owned luxury watch inventory, analyze sales data, and drive conversion strategy for a growing retail leader.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the Purchasing Manager with product sourcing and placement strategy across Watchfinder, consignment, and marketplace channels, with focus on margin and inventory optimization
  • Monitor execution of the purchasing plan in real time and liaise with US Purchasing Managers to ensure alignment with strategic intent
  • Collaborate with the pricing team to identify opportunities for conversion optimization through pricing adjustments and quotation reviews
  • Analyze stock holding and purchasing processes for regional model stocks in coordination with Purchasing and Finance teams
  • Manage weekly retail store replenishment, planning and executing a minimum of 75 units per shipment plus ad-hoc requests
  • Conduct weekly in-store visits to assess visual merchandising, marketing displays, and customer profile alignment
  • Perform comprehensive analysis of store foot traffic patterns, appointment bookings, and customer segmentation to optimize inventory placement
  • Analyze online and retail store performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for commercial optimization
  • Develop and execute US-specific campaigns and promotional strategies, thinking creatively to capitalize on emerging inventory opportunities
  • Track stock performance across product categories, price tiers, and geographies, working closely with pricing to adjust velocity and sell-through rates
  • Produce weekly trend reports and product performance summaries, delivering actionable insights to Country Managers and commercial leadership
  • Support HQ in local reporting on the purchase-to-publish lifecycle, coordinating stakeholder meetings to monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and resolve execution gaps

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of creating measurable business impact through merchandising initiatives, preferably in a multi-brand retail environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel with demonstrated ability to build complex models and manipulate large datasets
  • Organized approach with exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with ability to interpret performance reports and draw actionable conclusions
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams and senior leaders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, plan strategically, and understand the relative significance of competing demands
