Van Cleef & Arpels seeks Assistant Boutique Manager in Osaka to lead team, drive sales, and deliver excellence in luxury jewelry retail operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Communicate and align boutique vision, strategy, and organizational objectives to all team members, serving as translator between boutique management and staff
  • Partner with the Boutique Manager to drive continuous talent development, team performance improvement, and member engagement through one-on-one coaching, performance reviews, sales coaching, and capability development dialogue
  • Support Boutique Trainers and DARE Key Users in training and development initiatives
  • Foster a constructive work environment, improve team morale, and respond appropriately to HR-related matters
  • Monitor competitive landscape and understand competing boutique team dynamics, top performers, and sales associates
  • Achieve individual and boutique sales budgets and targets
  • Analyze market trends and boutique sales performance data
  • Support Boutique Manager with BTQ (boutique quarterly) planning, three-month forecasts, and daily/monthly operational planning
  • Facilitate VIP and high-potential client treatment plans (tête-à-tête engagement) and private appointments for boutique members
  • Manage client mobilization, product presentations, artwork arrangements, and sales execution for OTC (off-the-calendar) events
  • Ensure comprehensive understanding and consistent execution of Richemont Group, Maison, and boutique policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Execute daily operations efficiently and effectively in alignment with company strategy and policy
  • Identify and implement boutique operational improvements
  • Manage collection pieces (CP) inventory and loan program administration
  • Lead inventory planning and execution
  • Implement theft prevention and additional security measures
  • Create and adjust boutique member shift schedules
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and identify additional business opportunities through service interactions
  • Translate Maison customer care policies into boutique-level practice
  • Present solutions for customer inquiries and complaints
  • Lead the team in delivering outstanding client service and experience aligned with Maison strategy and guidelines
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships and drive relationship development and retention
  • Collaborate with CRM team to enrich customer database and improve conversion rates, upselling, and customer retention
  • Support team and member relationship-building efforts to strengthen client loyalty
  • Serve as Maison ambassador through internal and external communication to establish direct client touchpoints
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with department store partners
  • Coordinate documentation and reports for department store submission
  • Act as liaison between office and department store team during OTC events and special activities

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in luxury retail boutique management or similar leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and motivate retail teams
  • Strong understanding of high jewelry heritage and luxury market dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in Japanese and English
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and retail management tools (including DARE system familiarity)
  • Strategic thinking and ability to translate corporate strategy into boutique execution
  • Client relationship management expertise
  • Knowledge of luxury retail operations, inventory management, and loss prevention
