Renata, a manufacturer of miniature batteries, is seeking a Head of Safety and Environment at 100% to lead a three-person team and oversee workplace safety, emergency management, hazardous substances, waste and environmental objectives. The role is based in Itingen and offers a varied, responsible remit, progressive social benefits and employment conditions, an on-site staff restaurant and various discounts.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide technical and disciplinary leadership to the Safety and Environment team of three employees.
- Develop and maintain safety concepts.
- Investigate accidents, near misses and risk events.
- Plan, organise and further develop emergency management.
- Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Organise and deliver training and awareness initiatives.
- Initiate and follow up on corrective and preventive measures.
- Serve as the contact for authorities and external bodies, including KIGA and SUVA.
- Manage hazardous substances and waste.
- Develop environmental objectives and support their implementation.
- Collect, analyse and report key figures.
Qualifications
- Completed education in a scientific or technical field, with further training in occupational safety and the environment.
- Several years of professional experience and leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
- Analytical and systematic thinking.
- Independent and structured working style.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office.
- German, spoken and written; very good English; French is an advantage.
