Role & Responsibilities
- Support the materials purchasing lifecycle: request for quotations, supplier selection, purchase order follow-up and delivery tracking.
- Assist in research and development of novel materials and trims; coordinate samples, tests and technical validation with suppliers and internal teams.
- Maintain and update technical specifications, material databases and sample libraries to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Monitor costing, lead times and minimum order quantities; prepare comparisons and contribute to supplier negotiations under buyer supervision.
- Liaise with design, product development and production to align material choices with creative intent, quality standards and industrial constraints.
- Participate in supplier audits and quality-control activities; help document corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives.
- Perform administrative tasks related to procurement: invoice reconciliation, PO documentation and basic reporting to the purchasing team.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant vocational or higher-education programme (BTS, Licence Professionnelle, Bachelor or Master) in purchasing, textile/materials engineering, fashion product development or equivalent.
- Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to technical detail and documentation.
- Commercial awareness and an analytical mindset for costing and lead-time assessment.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across design, development and external suppliers.
- Professional level of French; working knowledge of English is advantageous.

No prior professional experience required; previous internships or coursework in materials, sourcing or purchasing are advantageous and will be considered favourably.
Education
Enrolled in a vocational or higher-education programme in purchasing, textile/materials engineering, fashion product development, or a comparable field.
