Role & Responsibilities

• Selects groups of orders into appropriate waves to optimize facility shipping capacity.
• Works with the Office Services Manager to organize and coordinate work and maximize efficiency.
• Uses WMS System, MS Office, Island Pacific and SOUP.
• Evaluates daily workload by function, including special handling, pick volume and receiving, to balance facility and departmental capacity.
• Processes requests from Merchandise Coordinators and Customer Service to expedite, modify or release orders.
• Works with Operations Managers to balance workloads between manual and automated environments and meet shipping requirements.
• Reviews staffing, equipment utilization and system parameter sets with Operations Staff against the Production Plan, builds consensus and modifies waves in process as required.
• Releases customer orders when required and communicates with Customer Service personnel to resolve order exceptions.
• Balances workloads across pallet, case and manual picking.
• Works with other Wave Planners and Operations Supervisors to plan and manage manpower and product flow, ensuring continuous movement of goods and meeting daily distribution requirements in an automated environment.
• Ensures all billings for automated distributions, both post and pre.
• Maintains constant alertness and assists fellow associates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• At least 1 to 3 years of distribution or wave-planning experience, or relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional computer skills, including MS Office, Word and Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
