Role & Responsibilities
- Support technical development of assigned garments from initial concept through production, translating design sketches and direction into accurate measurements, construction requirements and technical specifications
- Maintain approved blocks, measurement standards and technical records for assigned product areas, identifying and recommending updates based on fit learnings and seasonal requirements
- Prepare for and participate in fit sessions; assess fit, balance, comfort, proportion, construction and product execution, providing clear technical recommendations
- Document fit decisions accurately, communicate agreed amendments to supplier partners and maintain traceability across samples, specifications and product records
- Analyze and resolve straightforward fit, construction and technical issues using established methods; escalate unfamiliar, material or higher-risk exceptions to technical leadership
- Evaluate the impact of proposed technical changes on fit, construction, measurements, fabric behavior, product quality and supplier capability
- Apply specialist garment-construction knowledge to assigned product categories, considering fabric behavior, stretch recovery, dimensional stability and construction methods
- Partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, suppliers and Quality Assurance to communicate technical requirements, investigate deviations and support corrective action
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely technical information in the Product Lifecycle Management system and related development records
- Independently manage assigned sample, fit and technical-development priorities against the seasonal critical path; anticipate dependencies and communicate timing risks early
- Support sample readiness, fit-session preparation, technical analysis and reporting required for seasonal product development
Qualifications
- Relevant degree, diploma or vocational qualification in garment technology, fashion technology or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in technical garment development; knowledge of pattern cutting is advantageous
- Strong working knowledge of garment construction, fit, measurements and technical product development
- Practical understanding of fabric behavior, stretch and recovery, dimensional stability and production considerations
- Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management systems and technical product-development tools
- Proficiency in relevant CAD or pattern-cutting software is advantageous; experience with 3D-development tools such as Browzwear or Gerber 3D is beneficial
- Ability to apply established methods and sound technical judgment to analyze fit, construction and product-development issues
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build productive internal and external working relationships
- Clear written and spoken English communication skills for conveying technical information and recommendations
- Strong accuracy and data integrity; consideration of design intent, product quality, commercial feasibility, timing and supplier implications

Demonstrated hands-on experience in technical garment development within a product development or quality assurance environment, with proven ability to develop and maintain measurement standards, analyze fit and construction issues, and collaborate effectively with design, merchandising and supply chain teams in a seasonal product development setting.
Education
Relevant degree, diploma or vocational qualification in garment technology, fashion technology, apparel design or related discipline, or equivalent practical professional experience.
