The Quality Assurance Auditor oversees pre-production, production monitoring and quality assurance in footwear factories, including inspections, audits, corrective action follow-up, reporting and FCQA training and management. The role requires at least five years of relevant hands-on experience, college education or above, spoken and written English, and frequent travel between factories in Vietnam.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in risk assessments, pre-production meetings and pilot runs.
- Monitor bulk production to ensure compliance with PPS.
- Accurately prepare and record pre-production reports.
- Monitor production quality and schedules, and report delays to the planning team.
- Ensure factory production controls (SOPs) are in place and followed.
- Manage factory certified quality auditor (FCQA) performance.
- Review packing compliance and conduct GMP audits.
- Follow up on product safety and mold-control effectiveness.
- Assist with CAP investigations and fact gathering; follow up on CAPs and report on their effectiveness.
- Follow up on GMP audit failures and OQL findings.
- Complete daily and weekly reports on pre-production results, production status and quality, and final inspection results.
- Report monthly on factory improvements, systems, issues and innovation.
- Work with factories to select suitable candidates for the FCQA program.
- Provide onsite FCQA training based on brand quality expectations and customer requirements.
- Oversee and manage FCQAs' daily inspection activities.
- Lead FCQAs in refining factory QA processes based on audit findings to ensure products meet or exceed customer quality expectations.
- Make decisions on incoming bulk material checks and verification, and inline and final inspection results.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in footwear manufacturing and quality assurance within a fast-paced fashion environment.
- College education or above.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and MS Office.
- Able to prepare inspection reports, analyze quality data, and communicate findings using photographs, tables and concise written summaries.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Mandarin is an advantage but is not mandatory.
- Willingness to travel frequently between factories in Vietnam.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting and interface with Global Design and Supply Chain.
