The Concession Manager leads store operations at the TOMMY HILFIGER and Calvin Klein concession at John Lewis Stratford, London, partnering with the Area Manager to deliver commercial targets, customer experience and visual standards. The role oversees sales and cost performance, reporting, team recruitment, training and coaching. Full-time.
Role & Responsibilities
- Partner with the Area Manager to develop business opportunities and meet company standards and goals for sales and wage budgets, sales per hour (SPH), units per transaction (UPT), conversion rate, wage and expense control, shrinkage, mystery shops, store audits and profitability.
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with others to grow the business and improve performance.
- Foster a positive store experience by treating customers and staff fairly and consistently.
- Perform manager-on-duty duties, including managing store opening and closing and the sales floor.
- Ensure execution of door-to-floor best practices and visual merchandising directives and standards for the sales floor and back room; review standards regularly to ensure clear, consistent execution.
- Manage daily sales, payroll, controllable expenses, goals and company initiatives, aligning activities with business objectives.
- Analyse store-level reports and create action plans to improve results.
- Lead weekly management and other staff meetings, and participate in and contribute to regional meetings.
- Set challenging but attainable goals focused on service quality, customer satisfaction and financial performance.
- Coordinate appropriate action plans while considering consequences and budget decisions.
- Communicate daily with staff about individual sales goals, key performance indicators, product sales and other information that supports excellent service and goal achievement.
- Assist with manpower planning and the identification, recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation of store personnel, seeking candidates with a broad range of perspectives, experiences and backgrounds.
- Lead employee training and development, ensuring employees are properly oriented to the company and trained for their roles.
- Train and coach employees daily, weekly and monthly, ensuring training is appropriately documented.

- Extensive experience connecting with consumers in a brand retailer.
- Experience in retail operations, budgeting, planning, sales and people management.
- Previous people management experience, with the ability to resolve conflict and unproductive disagreements purposefully.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to cultivate belonging.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to recognise and celebrate others’ contributions and achievements.
