Role & Responsibilities
- Support senior instructors in planning and delivering shooting and sporting tuition for private clients and groups, ensuring lessons meet Purdey's service standards.
- Maintain rigorous range and firearms safety by conducting pre-session risk assessments, supervising live firing, enforcing safety protocols and controlling client briefings.
- Prepare, inspect and perform basic maintenance and cleaning of shotguns, cartridges and ancillary equipment; escalate mechanical issues to gunsmiths or senior staff.
- Assist with equipment logistics and set-up for on-site lessons, demonstration days and client events, including transport and inventory tracking.
- Deliver personalised client support: assess ability levels, advise on shooting technique and posture, and adapt instruction to preserve a premium client experience.
- Manage administrative tasks including session records, attendance, incident logs and scheduling in coordination with reservations or retail teams.
- Uphold Purdey's brand standards for presentation, hospitality and client relations across all interactions on the estate or range.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on lesson content, safety procedures and client preferences.
Qualifications
- Valid UK firearms-handling certification or willingness to obtain recognised instructor qualifications (e.g., range safety or shooting instructor courses).
- Full, clean UK driving licence to support on-site logistics and occasional travel between properties.
- Emergency first-aid certification desirable or willingness to complete training promptly.
- Ability to pass standard background checks and any required licensing for work with firearms.
- Strong physical fitness and comfort working outdoors in variable weather conditions.

Experience
Typically 1+ years of practical experience delivering shooting instruction, outdoor sports coaching or comparable client-facing roles within luxury hospitality or sporting environments; prior experience on shooting ranges or estates is advantageous.
Education
