Puig is hiring a Packaging Studio Technician in Barcelona (temporary) to produce packaging prototypes for fashion and fragrance products.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce packaging prototypes and mock-ups from dielines, translating designer specifications into physical samples for fittings, approvals and photographic use.
- Operate and maintain studio equipment including cutting, creasing, gluing and finishing tools to deliver high-precision samples.
- Select and test substrates, boards, coatings and closures; evaluate structural and aesthetic performance against product requirements.
- Collaborate closely with design, production, sourcing and quality teams to refine pack structures, costs and manufacturability.
- Document technical specifications, sample revisions and bill of materials; ensure version control and sample traceability.
- Manage studio materials inventory and coordinate with external suppliers for outsourced prototypes or specialist finishing.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma or certificate in packaging technology, industrial design, graphic arts or equivalent hands-on training.
- Demonstrable practical experience in packaging prototyping, structural packing or model-making within luxury goods, cosmetics or related industries.
- Strong understanding of paperboard, folding carton, rigid box constructions and common finishing techniques (lamination, hot stamping, varnish).
- Excellent manual dexterity, attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and dielines.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines in a studio environment and to work cross-functionally with design and manufacturing stakeholders.
Skills
Experience
Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience producing packaging samples and structural prototypes in a studio or production environment, preferably for luxury packaging, cosmetics or consumer goods.
Education
Technical diploma or certificate in packaging technology, industrial design, graphic arts, or equivalent vocational qualification.
