Puig is hiring a Packaging & Product Testing Manager in Barcelona. Lead packaging development, stability testing and supplier qualification for fragrance and beauty products.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and execute packaging strategy and product testing programmes for fragrance and beauty ranges, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and commercial timelines.
- Develop, validate and maintain test protocols (stability, shelf-life, compatibility, transport and user‑experience testing) and oversee laboratory operations and external laboratories.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with R&D, regulatory affairs, supply chain, manufacturing and marketing to ensure on-time product launches and regulatory compliance.
- Manage supplier qualification, packaging material approvals and technical negotiations with converters, moulders and contract manufacturers.
- Supervise, coach and develop a technical team; allocate resources, set KPIs and manage budgets for testing and packaging activities.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for packaging performance, cost optimisation and sustainability objectives (material reduction, recyclability assessments).
- Ensure documentation and traceability of test results, CAPA follow-up and release criteria in line with company quality systems and applicable cosmetics regulations.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of cosmetics/fragrance product testing and packaging technologies, including stability and compatibility testing methods.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards for cosmetics packaging (EU Cosmetics Regulation, REACH considerations for packaging, labelling constraints).
- Proven supplier management experience and ability to drive technical negotiations with packaging vendors.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing technical teams and cross‑functional projects.
- Strong analytical aptitude and experience with test-data interpretation and reporting; experience with CAPA processes.

Experience
Typically requires 5+ years of progressive experience in packaging development, quality or product testing within cosmetics, perfumery or FMCG, including prior responsibility for supplier management and cross-functional launch activities.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a closely related technical discipline; a Master's or equivalent technical qualification is advantageous.
