Penhaligon's seeks a Fragrance Specialist in London (Liberty) — client-facing luxury retail role delivering expert scent consultations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver exemplary, consultative client service that reflects Penhaligon's luxury standards and heritage storytelling.
- Advise clients on fragrance composition, notes and appropriate gifting, conducting personalised consultations and scent profiling.
- Achieve and exceed individual and store sales targets through up‑selling, cross‑selling and promotion of complementary product categories (e.g., home fragrance, grooming).
- Manage sales transactions accurately using the POS system and assist with daily cash reconciliation and reporting.
- Maintain boutique presentation: execute visual merchandising directives, replenish displays and ensure stockroom organisation.
- Build and maintain a client database through proactive clienteling and follow‑up communications; support CRM capture and data hygiene.
- Support in‑store events, launches and sampling initiatives to drive footfall and brand visibility.
Qualifications
- Proven passion for fragrance and proven ability to translate product knowledge into persuasive client conversations.
- Previous experience in luxury retail or premium beauty/perfume environments preferred (1+ year recommended).
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a polished, service‑oriented manner appropriate for an upscale boutique.
- Flexible availability including weekends and peak retail periods; ability to work standing shifts.
- Basic numeracy and experience handling cash and POS transactions; attention to detail in stock control.

Experience
Ideal candidate will have at least one year of retail experience, preferably within luxury beauty, perfumery or premium lifestyle brands. Demonstrable success in meeting sales targets and building repeat clientele is highly desirable.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; formal training or certification in perfumery, beauty or retail selling is an advantage but not mandatory.
