Penhaligon's is hiring a Fragrance Specialist in Cardiff — a client-facing luxury retail role delivering personalised perfume consultations and driving sales.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver bespoke, consultative fragrance consultations to clients, assessing preferences and recommending product solutions to meet individual needs.
- Drive sales performance and conversion through expert product storytelling, sampling, gift-wrapping, and appropriate add-on recommendations.
- Maintain elevated boutique standards: visual merchandising, samples, fragrance presentation, housekeeping and stock replenishment.
- Build and maintain client records and follow-up activities using CRM or store systems to nurture repeat business and client loyalty.
- Support local marketing and events (launches, masterclasses, VIP evenings) and collaborate with the wider store team to execute brand initiatives.
- Operate point-of-sale, process transactions accurately, and assist with inventory control and stock takes.
Qualifications
- Proven retail or beauty sales experience, preferably within fragrance, prestige beauty or luxury retail environments.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver high-calibre client service and to exceed individual sales targets.
- Strong product knowledge of fragrances, scent families and application techniques, or willingness to complete brand training.
- Excellent communication skills with polished presentation and professional demeanour suitable for a luxury boutique.
- Availability to work a retail rota including evenings, weekends and peak trading periods; legal right to work in the UK.

Typically 1–3 years of customer-facing experience in retail, with preference for candidates who have worked in luxury, prestige beauty or perfumery environments.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational qualification in beauty/retail or formal perfume training is advantageous but not mandatory.
