Other Lifestyle Brands is hiring a Fragrance & Home Care Formula Development Manager in Barcelona to lead formulation R&D, scale-up and regulatory compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end formulation development for fragrance and home care products, from concept through scale-up to industrial transfer.
- Manage a cross‑functional R&D team, providing technical direction, mentoring and performance oversight.
- Design and execute stability, compatibility and performance testing programmes (including sensory evaluation) to validate formulas.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and safety of formulations (IFRA, REACH, CLP and applicable regional rules) and maintain technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with perfumers, raw-material suppliers, packaging engineers and manufacturing to optimise cost-in-use and manufacturability.
- Drive innovation by scouting novel actives, green chemistries and formulation technologies; translate insights into viable product concepts.
- Define technical specifications, lead scale-up trials, troubleshoot production issues and oversee tech transfer to contract manufacturers or internal production sites.
- Manage project timelines, budgets and supplier relationships to meet launch milestones and quality targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science or a closely related discipline; master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record in fragrance or home-care formulation development with strong regulatory knowledge (IFRA, REACH, CLP).
- Demonstrated people management experience, including leading small technical teams and coordinating cross-functional projects.
- Practical experience in lab-scale formulation, stability testing, sensory protocols and industrial scale-up.
- Fluent technical writing skills and experience preparing technical dossiers and specifications for manufacturing.

Approximately 8+ years of progressive formulation R&D experience in fragrance, personal care or home care; minimum 3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity with responsibility for product launches and scale-up.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science or related field; master’s degree or postgraduate qualification preferred.
