Puig is hiring a Finance Specialist in Hamburg — permanent finance role supporting reporting, month-end close and analysis.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and review month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger postings and reconciliations.
- Produce routine financial reports and variance analyses for local and regional stakeholders, highlighting key trends and risks.
- Execute account reconciliations, intercompany settlements and corrective journal entries as required.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and periodic reforecasts; contribute to scenario analysis and business partnering with commercial teams.
- Maintain and document internal controls; ensure compliance with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Assist with external and internal audits by preparing schedules, responding to queries and supplying documentation.
- Identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements to streamline reporting and strengthen controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, supply chain, tax) to resolve accounting and reconciliation issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or local certification) is advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting (local GAAP and/or IFRS).
- High level of numerical accuracy, strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with proven ability to interact with business stakeholders and external auditors.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
Skills
Experience
Minimum of approximately 3 years' experience in corporate finance, accounting or a similar finance role; experience within consumer goods, retail or beauty sectors is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline.
