Puig in Barcelona seeks an Accounts Payable Executive (temporary) to manage invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
Role & Responsibilities
- Process and code supplier invoices, ensuring accurate matching to purchase orders and contract terms.
- Execute scheduled payment runs (domestic and international) and manage payment authorisations in line with internal controls.
- Reconcile supplier statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and maintain supplier account accuracy.
- Perform month‑end AP tasks including accruals, aged creditor analysis and support for financial close.
- Maintain and update the supplier master file, ensuring regulatory and tax details are accurate and complete.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing AP schedules and providing documentation on request.
- Collaborate with procurement, treasury and business units to optimise invoice workflows and resolve exceptions.
- Prepare ad-hoc and recurring reports on AP KPIs and cashflow impact.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and adherence to internal control procedures.
- Good understanding of accounts payable best practice, invoice lifecycle and statutory tax requirements.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight month‑end deadlines.
- Effective stakeholder management and clear written/verbal communication.
Skills
Experience
Approximately 2+ years of hands-on accounts payable experience within a corporate environment or shared service centre, preferably supporting international suppliers and multi-currency transactions.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or a related field; professional accounting technician qualifications desirable.
