Prada Sales Manager role in Chicago—lead luxury retail team, drive sales performance, and deliver exceptional client experiences.
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive the sales team to exceed financial targets and maximize sales performance whilst supporting overall store success
- Develop and implement business plans in collaboration with the Store Manager, analysing product performance and proposing strategic action initiatives
- Cultivate cross-selling and upselling opportunities across product categories to optimise revenue
- Lead by visible presence on the sales floor, maintaining Prada standards and creating efficient merchandising execution
- Serve as a sales leadership role model, mentoring team members in client relationship development whilst building a personal client portfolio
- Champion digital mindset adoption within the team and support colleagues in leveraging technology to enhance client relationships and commercial objectives
- Monitor market trends and competitive landscape continuously to inform business strategy
- Deliver an exceptional client journey by welcoming guests warmly and communicating Prada's core values—design intelligence, cultural relevance, challenge of conventions, and commitment to creativity and innovation
- Cultivate client loyalty through relationship-building, meaningful after-sales engagement, and high-quality customer profile capture
- Identify and pursue new client acquisition opportunities to grow departmental sales
- Manage customer complaints proactively and professionally to preserve relationship equity
- Coach and develop team members with consistent feedback, identify training needs, and partner with HR and L&D to create tailored development plans
- Facilitate information exchange within the team through structured morning briefings and knowledge-sharing sessions
- Identify high-potential talent and propose candidates for internal development opportunities to the Store Manager
- Ensure the team operates with the highest standards of care and respect for products through exemplary behaviour and rigorous procedural adherence
- Support cooperation between front and back-of-house operations and enforce company procedures on cash handling, inventory, and logistics
- Contribute to effective asset protection and provide feedback to Store Manager and Visual Merchandising teams on departmental needs
- Maintain effective back-of-house organisation, ensuring asset security and staff grooming standards
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures across all operational activities
- Master all company tools, applications, and digital systems; keep the team informed of relevant updates
- Train and inspire the sales team on product knowledge, sales techniques, client service standards, and company policies
Qualifications
- Proven track record in luxury retail sales management or equivalent leadership environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales performance and exceed financial targets consistently
- Strong business acumen with analytical capability to assess market and product performance
- Comprehensive knowledge of luxury fashion industry dynamics, trends, and consumer behaviour
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills across all levels
- Leadership and team coaching experience with proven ability to inspire and influence others
- Strong attention to detail and organisational capability
- Proven experience building and maintaining client loyalty through sophisticated relationship management
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational engagement
Skills
Experience
Minimum 5 years of progressive sales leadership or team management experience in luxury fashion retail, with demonstrated success in driving sales targets and managing team performance.
Education
Secondary education required; tertiary qualification in business, retail management, or related discipline preferred.
