Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the site's health, safety and environmental (HSE) management system in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Perform routine and periodic risk assessments, safety audits and environmental reviews across production, storage and retail areas; deliver corrective action plans and monitor closure.
  • Lead incident and near‑miss investigations, prepare root‑cause analyses and coordinate remedial actions and reporting to internal stakeholders and regulators as required.
  • Design and deliver HSE training programmes for employees, contractors and temporary staff, including induction, PPE use, emergency procedures and task‑specific safety controls.
  • Manage permits‑to‑work, confined‑space and hot‑work controls; review job safety analyses and approve high‑risk activities.
  • Maintain HSE documentation and records (inspections, certifications, permits, training logs) and produce regular performance reports and KPIs for management.
  • Liaise with local authorities, external auditors and third‑party service providers (fire safety, occupational health) to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Coordinate emergency response planning and drills, and act as incident commander or liaison during on‑site emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Certification in occupational safety such as NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or national equivalent.
  • Formal training or certification in incident investigation and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Valid permits/certifications as required by local law (e.g. fire safety, confined‑space) where applicable.
  • Fluent ability to prepare official reports in English; additional local language proficiency advantageous.
