Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative materials to enhance product performance, aesthetics, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Design, Product Development, and Production teams to align material solutions with brand strategy.
  • Source and test new materials with global suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and technical standards.
  • Monitor industry trends and technologies to apply cutting-edge material innovations to future collections.
  • Build and maintain material libraries with swatches, textures, and treatments for design reference.
  • Ensure materials meet functional, aesthetic, and sustainability goals, actively contributing to prototype reviews.
  • Focus on sustainability by exploring and developing eco-friendly materials and solutions aligned with company goals.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Product Design, Materials/Textile Design, or related disciplines.
  • 3-5 years of experience in material development within the Fashion & Luxury Industry (experience in sportswear/performance fashion is a plus).

Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of fabrics, fibers, surface treatments, and material technologies. Strong aesthetic sensibility combined with technical and performance expertise. Solid commitment to sustainability and familiarity with eco-friendly material solutions. Demonstrated ability to scout, evaluate, and manage international suppliers. Excellent communication skills to effectively present proposals and support strategic decision-making. Innovative and proactive mindset with a strong orientation toward future trends and technologies. Fluency in Italian and English.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in material development within the Fashion & Luxury Industry, with a preference for experience in sportswear/performance fashion.

Education

Degree in Industrial Product Design, Materials/Textile Design, or related disciplines.
