Prada Group seeks Retail Construction Project Manager in New York to oversee high-end retail construction projects from concept through delivery.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of high-end retail construction projects from preconstruction planning through close-out
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and cost reports with regular monitoring and updates
  • Perform technical due diligence including collection and evaluation of existing drawings, photography, video, and material assessments
  • Coordinate and communicate with architects, designers, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless project execution
  • Review shop drawings for compliance with design intent and constructability standards
  • Maintain clear communication channels between local site teams and global internal stakeholders
  • Secure and manage permits, inspections, and ensure full compliance with local building codes and regulations
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, process change orders, and handle payment applications
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality standards
  • Solicit competitive bids from general contractors, millworkers, façade contractors, and specialized trades
  • Level bids, negotiate pricing, and provide strategic recommendations for contractor selection
  • Ensure all workmanship meets luxury retail standards and brand specifications throughout construction
  • Enforce safety and compliance protocols on-site to meet OSHA and company requirements
  • Provide regular progress updates and status reports to leadership and brand partners
  • Facilitate site meetings and maintain comprehensive documentation of decisions, issues, and resolutions
  • Drive projects to on-time completion with exceptional-quality finishes aligned with luxury standards
  • Manage punch lists, warranties, and resolve post-completion issues to ensure seamless store openings
  • Collect close-out documents and coordinate project turnover to the Facilities management team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 5–10+ years of demonstrated experience managing construction projects, preferably in high-end retail or luxury hospitality sectors
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and luxury finishes
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project, Procore, or Primavera
  • Proficiency with P2P (Procure-to-Pay) enterprise software such as SAP or comparable platforms
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to travel as required for site visits and project meetings
