Prada Group seeks Performance Sportswear Patternmakers in Montevarchi, Italy—experienced technical specialists for Prada Linea Rossa development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and establish performance garment patterns from design sketches, creating bases and finished patterns autonomously using PGS-Investronica and CLO-3D software
- Interpret functional product requirements in relation to athlete physiology and movement, ensuring comfort, performance, and ergonomic excellence
- Work extensively on complex sizing tables, grading, and technical fitting specifications
- Identify and flag technical and construction issues during early prototyping phases
- Oversee garment manufacturing processes and provide guidance to production laboratories on optimal techniques for technical apparel construction
- Collaborate actively with Design and Product Development departments during fittings and quality assurance testing, implementing necessary model modifications
Qualifications
- Diploma with specialization in apparel design or pattern-making
- 8–10 years of professional experience as a technical/sportswear patternmaker, primarily within high-performance athletic brands or companies
- Complete autonomy in pattern development from sketch through finished prototype
- Advanced proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software for apparel
- Fluent in Italian and English
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel within Italy
Skills
Experience
8–10 years of demonstrated experience as a technical or sportswear patternmaker, with a strong track record in high-performance athletic brands. Proven expertise in developing lightweight performance apparel (running, training, tennis, summer sports) or heavy-weight winter outerwear (ski, snowboard, cold-weather sports) is strongly preferred. Experience with tailored athlete-specific solutions and complex technical garment construction is essential.
Education
Diploma with specialization in apparel design, pattern-making, or related discipline in the fashion or textile sector.
