Prada Group seeks a Data Science Specialist in Milan, Italy to develop financial models and analytics for Finance & Controlling.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deploy statistical and machine‑learning models to support forecasting, margin analysis, cash‑flow projections and other controllership needs.
- Translate financial questions into data science problems and deliver reproducible, well‑documented analytical solutions for FP&A and Controlling teams.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, feature engineering processes and model monitoring to ensure production reliability and governance.
- Create dashboards, reports and visualisations that synthesise model outputs into actionable insights for finance stakeholders and senior management.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Commercial, Retail Operations and IT to align datasets, define KPIs and validate assumptions.
- Ensure methodological rigor through model validation, back‑testing, sensitivity analysis and adherence to data privacy and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) applying statistical modelling and machine learning in a corporate finance, retail or commercial analytics context.
- Strong track record delivering end‑to‑end analytical projects: problem scoping, data engineering, modelling, validation and deployment.
- Fluent programming ability in data science languages and query languages with experience producing production‑ready code and documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, capable of presenting quantitative findings to non‑technical finance audiences.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3+ years of professional experience in data science or advanced analytics, with demonstrable applied experience in financial modelling, forecasting or retail/commerce analytics. Experience deploying models into production and collaborating with finance teams is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; Master’s degree or equivalent advanced training preferred.
