Confidential fashion house — Levanella (Italy): Garment Laboratory Technician position producing prototypes and samples for product development.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce prototypes and seasonal samples to technical specifications, ensuring fidelity to patterns and design intent.
- Operate and maintain industrial and domestic sewing machines, overlockers and finishing equipment used in the sample room.
- Perform detailed garment assembly, hand-finishing and final checks prior to internal review or fit sessions.
- Work from patterns, tech packs and markers to cut, sew and assemble trial garments; propose practical technical solutions for fit and construction issues.
- Document sample revisions, maintain sample-room inventory and support communication between product development, patternmakers and quality control.
- Contribute to quality inspections and report non-conformities, assisting continuous improvement in lab processes and workmanship standards.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or technical qualification in fashion design, tailoring, textiles or an equivalent practical trade qualification.
- Practical competence in garment construction, pattern interpretation and sample-room workflows.
- Manual dexterity, meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of fabric behaviour and garment finishing.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow tech-pack instructions; capacity to document amendments clearly.

Typically 1–3 years working in a sample room, garment laboratory or production environment with hands-on responsibility for prototype assembly and finishing.
Education
Vocational or technical diploma in fashion, textiles, tailoring or an equivalent hands-on trade qualification.
