Marchesi 1824 in Milan seeks a Back Office Intern (Supply Chain) to support purchasing, inventory and logistics operations.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Process purchase orders, invoices and delivery documentation within the ERP/back-office system.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory records, perform stock checks and support stock replenishment activities.
  • Liaise with suppliers, couriers and internal teams to coordinate deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare routine operational reports and dashboards to monitor purchasing, lead times and stock levels.
  • Support the purchasing team with supplier follow-ups, order confirmations and administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to process-improvement initiatives to increase accuracy and efficiency in back-office workflows.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
  • Strong numerical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail and proven organisational skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to liaise with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, reliable and able to prioritise multiple administrative tasks in a fast-paced retail/food environment.
  • Basic familiarity with ERP systems; practical proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data manipulation.
