The Assistant Store Manager is the Store Manager’s deputy, leading the store when required and supporting commercial performance, client experience, team development and compliant store operations. The role covers sales strategy, clienteling, omnichannel and e-commerce, recruitment, merchandising and inventory control; no contract terms are stated.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in defining business strategies to exceed financial targets and maximise sales performance.
- Make commercial recommendations to relevant departments to drive sales and improve productivity.
- Coach the store team to develop action plans that exceed KPI targets, including cross-selling and up-selling across product categories.
- Monitor market trends and share insights with relevant teams.
- Represent Prada in the local market and on the shop floor, maintaining a professional approach and high service standards.
- Promote omnichannel awareness and support the team’s use of digital tools to enhance client relationships and achieve business objectives.
- Support e-commerce channel development by responding promptly to orders and maintaining a high standard of service.
- Promote product knowledge across the shop floor and work with relevant departments to address training needs related to products and collections.
- Motivate staff, foster team spirit through effective communication, and cultivate a positive, energetic environment.
- Participate in recruitment, including market mapping, profile definition and interviews, alongside or on behalf of the Store Manager.
- Prioritise the client experience, lead by example and ensure the team addresses clients’ needs and requests.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships and ensure meaningful after-sales experiences.
- Execute the Prada Selling Ceremony consistently to deliver excellent client satisfaction and service.
- Recommend opportunities to acquire new clients and increase repurchase rates.
- Work with the Store Manager to define targeted clienteling actions that strengthen customer loyalty.
- Partner with the Store Manager to ensure visual displays attract clients and maximise sales in line with company guidelines.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to the Visual Merchandising and Retail Merchandising departments when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures for cash handling, inventory, logistics and key reporting required by Head Office.
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure effective care of company assets in the back of house and cooperation with the front of house.
- Ensure staff grooming standards are consistently met.
- Promote collaboration between front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Work with the Store Manager to ensure inventory-control requirements are met and fiscal stock inventory activities are managed.
- Analyse and benchmark local competitors’ events and share relevant information with the Head Office Events department.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing a boutique or department store in the luxury or premium retail sector.
- Strong understanding of luxury retail and product knowledge.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and Dutch; additional languages are an advantage.
- Good understanding of the local client market and customer portfolio.
