Piaget in Plan‑les‑Ouates seeks a Stone Setter (contract) skilled in haute‑joaillerie and watch gem‑setting for its Swiss ateliers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Execute precise setting of diamonds and coloured gemstones on jewellery and watch components according to technical drawings and quality standards.
  • Select and prepare stones and metal seats; perform pavé, prong, bezel and other specialist setting techniques with consistent finish.
  • Operate microscopes and hand tools (gravers, burnishers, micro-motors) to achieve haute‑joaillerie tolerances and surface finishing.
  • Conduct in‑process and final quality control checks to verify stone security, alignment, height and polish; rectify defects when necessary.
  • Maintain setting equipment and workbench hygiene; follow gem handling, inventory and traceability procedures.
  • Collaborate with design, prototyping and quality teams to resolve technical issues and meet production schedule targets.

Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training or apprenticeship in jewellery, goldsmithing or horology (or equivalent certification).
  • Demonstrable manual dexterity and excellent visual acuity under magnification.
  • Thorough understanding of precious metals and gemstone properties; safe handling and care procedures.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow production specifications accurately.
