Penhaligon's seeks a Fragrance Specialist in Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth — permanent retail role delivering luxury fragrance expertise and client service.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalised, consultative client service to drive fragrance sales and build long-term client relationships.
  • Provide expert product knowledge and scent profiling to guide customers through the Penhaligon's collection and bespoke offerings.
  • Achieve and exceed individual and store sales targets and KPIs through upselling, add-on recommendations and clienteling.
  • Maintain boutique standards including visual merchandising, stock replenishment, sample management and housekeeping.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system, process transactions accurately and adhere to cash-handling and loss-prevention procedures.
  • Coordinate with store management on local marketing, client events, and CRM activities to grow the client base.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience, preferably within luxury beauty, fragrance or premium fashion.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service in a high-end environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate product knowledge into sales.
  • Right to work in the UK and flexibility to work retail hours including weekends and bank holidays.

Experience

Preferably 1–2 years of customer-facing experience in luxury retail or beauty, with demonstrable sales performance and familiarity with fragrance retailing.

Education

No formal degree required; GCSEs or equivalent desirable. Retail, beauty or cosmetology qualifications are an advantage.
