Penhaligon's seeks a Fragrance Specialist in Bath — boutique perfume advisor role delivering bespoke consultations and driving sales at Penhaligon's Bath.
Role & Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised fragrance consultations and guided sampling to affluent and aspirational customers, converting consultations into sales.
- Achieve and exceed individual and store sales targets, driving average transaction value through tailored recommendations and complementary product pairing.
- Curate and maintain elegant product displays and fragrance counters to brand standards; implement seasonal visual merchandising and promotional layouts.
- Manage stock replenishment, inventory accuracy and sample allocation; ensure products are merchandised, labelled and priced correctly.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through proactive clienteling, after-sales follow-up and loyalty programme engagement.
- Support in-store events, launches and masterclasses, and liaise with store management to execute bespoke customer experiences.
- Operate POS and handle cash/card transactions accurately while maintaining impeccable service standards and confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Proven retail experience in fragrance, cosmetics or luxury beauty (preferably within a premium or niche maison).
- Demonstrable track record of meeting sales targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to perform high-quality one-to-one consultations.
- Flexible availability including weekends and seasonal peak trading periods.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
Skills
Experience
At least 1–2 years of direct retail experience in fragrance or high-end beauty, with measurable sales performance and experience delivering personalised consultations in a boutique environment.
Education
No specific tertiary degree required; secondary education (GCSE/A-level or equivalent). Professional or vocational qualifications in beauty, cosmetics or retail are advantageous.
