As a family-owned manufacture with an international retail and after-sales network, the brand combines artisanal ateliers with rigorous quality standards and a long-standing commitment to preserving watchmaking heritage.
Patek Philippe in Geneva seeks a Watchmaker — Restoration & Regulation to restore and regulate vintage and complicated mechanical timepieces.
Role & Responsibilities
- Diagnose, disassemble, restore and reassemble mechanical movements — including vintage and high-complication calibres — according to Patek Philippe technical and conservation standards.
- Perform precise regulation and timing adjustments; ensure timekeeping meets maison specifications across different positions and power states.
- Fabricate, modify or source replacement components when original parts are unavailable, collaborating with the parts workshop and external specialists as required.
- Execute delicate cosmetic restoration tasks (case, dial, hands) and coordinate with finishing specialists to preserve provenance and aesthetic integrity.
- Maintain meticulous service records, prepare condition reports for heritage pieces and contribute to conservation documentation.
- Conduct final quality control and testing on completed restorations, including water-resistance and timing verifications where applicable.
- Advise client relations and after-sales teams on technical history, required interventions and realistic timelines for restorations.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of atelier tools and timing equipment; comply with health, safety and security procedures for high-value objects.
Qualifications
- Recognized watchmaking qualification (WOSTEP, Swiss CFC / Brevet fédéral or equivalent).
- Proven track record in restoration and regulation of mechanical movements; demonstrable experience with vintage calibres and haute complications (e.g., chronographs, perpetual calendars, minute repeaters).
- Exceptional manual dexterity, steady hand and strong microscopic vision.
- Ability to fabricate or adapt small parts and to use precision lathes, staking tools and traditional watchmaking equipment.
- Rigorous attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to documentation and provenance preservation.
