Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the traditional assembly workshop, ensuring the assembly, adjustment and final testing of mechanical movements and complete watches to the maison’s quality standards.
  • Supervise, mentor and schedule a team of skilled watchmakers and assemblers; conduct training programmes to maintain and elevate artisanal competencies.
  • Ensure conformity with technical documentation, assembly procedures and inspection protocols; interface closely with Quality Control to resolve non‑conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate daily production priorities with supply chain, component inspection and service/repairs departments to meet delivery targets and customer commitments.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives (5S, process optimisation) to increase efficiency while preserving traditional finishing and assembly techniques.
  • Maintain workshop equipment and tooling (timing machines, loupes, microscopes, demagnetisers) and oversee calibration and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Contribute technical input to new‑product introductions and prototypes, advising on assembly feasibility and hand‑finishing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Formal watchmaking qualification (CFC/CAS or equivalent) or WOSTEP diploma preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in a haute horlogerie or precision assembly environment with responsibility for a workshop team.
  • Deep technical knowledge of mechanical movement assembly, escapement regulation, setting and timing procedures.
  • Demonstrable ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed assembly documentation and quality standards.
  • Strong manual dexterity, visual acuity and experience using timing equipment and fine metrology tools.
