Patek Philippe in Geneva seeks a Quality Controller to carry out dimensional and visual inspections and ensure manufacturing excellence.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional, visual and functional inspections of components and finished watches using precision metrology instruments and microscopes.
- Execute first-article and in-process inspections; verify conformity to technical drawings, tolerances and internal specifications.
- Record, categorize and report non-conformances; initiate corrective actions and follow through with production and engineering until resolution.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, stereomicroscopes) and ensure traceability of measurement results.
- Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives, including participation in FMEA and SPC activities.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation, inspection plans, control charts and compliance records in accordance with internal and industry standards.
- Train production staff on inspection criteria and quality best practices when required; liaise with manufacturing, R&D and supply chain teams to uphold quality objectives.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in watchmaking, mechanical engineering, metrology or a closely related technical discipline.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and geometric tolerancing.
- Excellent manual dexterity, visual acuity and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
- Familiarity with metrology instruments and inspection methodologies; capacity to ensure tool calibration and traceability.
Skills
Experience
Minimum three years of practical quality-control experience in watchmaking, precision mechanics, or other high-precision manufacturing environments; experience with in-process and final inspection regimes is expected.
Education
Certificate or diploma in watchmaking, mechanical engineering, metrology, or equivalent vocational/technical qualification.
