Patek Philippe seeks a Prototype Production Engineer in Saint-Imier to lead dial and appliqué prototype development and industrialization.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Engage with the Creative department to establish prototype dial requisitions and specifications
  • Define production processes and develop feasibility studies and comprehensive production documentation
  • Maintain integrity of master data created in ERP and PLM systems, including manufacturing routings, bills of materials, technical specifications, and data required for prototype fabrication
  • Determine manufacturing resources, tooling, sub-assemblies, and materials required for prototype production launches
  • Coordinate work order progression and purchase orders during the product development phase
  • Validate prototype conformity and compliance with Creative department specifications prior to final delivery
  • Lead prototype manufacturing in project mode, collaborating with cross-functional teams including ERP specialists, industrialization engineers, quality assurance, logistics, and production teams
  • Ensure quality standards across all project deliverables according to established specifications
  • Organize and facilitate recurring project status meetings and technical review sessions with development, production, quality, and prototyping teams
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reporting to internal stakeholders and program management office

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in mechanical or micromechanical engineering or equivalent qualification
  • 2–3 years minimum experience in a similar role, ideally within the luxury dial manufacturing sector
  • Demonstrated mastery of project management principles and methodologies
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Solidworks, and master data management
  • Strong command of quality management tools including 8D problem-solving and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office and proven ERP system expertise
  • Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking capabilities
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Natural diplomacy and collaborative team orientation
  • Proven ability to coordinate and mobilize cross-functional teams
