Role & Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and design novel watch movement concepts, assess technical feasibility and oversee prototype realisation.
  • Lead projects or project phases on complex mechanisms that integrate traditional watchmaking with emerging technologies.
  • Ensure that new constructions meet functional and quality specifications through rigorous technical validation.
  • Integrate new materials and technologies by identifying advancement opportunities and evaluating manufacturing methods.
  • Maintain technological watch by monitoring technical developments, fabrication techniques and construction tools.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree as an EPF/EPFL-equivalent engineer or a HES degree in microtechnology or mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum two years' experience in watch movement construction or a closely related horological R&D role.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and their forming techniques.
  • Familiarity with trade design and measurement tools (CAO, SGDT, Cotation GPS) and common office software.
  • Motivation and aptitude to develop project management skills; comfortable initiating work from a blank sheet and managing complexity, uncertainty and ambiguity.
