Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all activities related to the production of dial blanks, from incoming material to finished dial blanks ready for decoration.
- Manage and develop a multi-skilled workshop team, including production operators, technicians and quality inspectors; define staffing, training and performance objectives.
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet exacting technical and aesthetic specifications through rigorous quality control and metrology.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (process optimisation, yield improvement, waste reduction and lead-time compression) in collaboration with industrial engineering and supply-chain functions.
- Supervise maintenance and calibration of production equipment (CNC, stamping, plating, lacquering/enamelling stations) and ensure adherence to safety and environmental protocols.
- Coordinate with design, finishing (dial decoration) and procurement teams to align production capacity with product development timelines and supplier deliveries.
- Prepare and manage production schedules, material requirements and departmental budgets; report KPIs to senior management.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in precision component manufacturing, ideally within watchmaking or fine mechanical assembly.
- Deep technical knowledge of dial fabrication techniques (stamping, CNC, guilloché, plating, lacquering, enamelling) and metrology methods.
- Strong track record of implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement measures.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and external subcontractors for finishing and surface treatments.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage tight schedules and maintain high quality standards.
