OTB Group North America seeks a Total Rewards and Controlling Analyst in New York. Lead compensation strategy, budget management, and workforce analytics for iconic fashion brands.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own the planning, consolidation, and ongoing management of annual personnel budgets and multi-year projections (BDG, PJ1, PJ2, and 3YP) using advanced budget analytics and labor cost modeling in compliance with company guidelines and regional requirements
- Prepare monthly workforce analytics reports monitoring key HR KPIs including headcount, FTEs, and labor costs, with variance analysis and executive-ready dashboards for senior and middle management
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to develop ad hoc analyses addressing business requests such as retail personnel cost monitoring and specific item cost impact assessments to improve HR cost control and mitigate financial risk
- Partner with Finance to manage monthly closure activities, ensuring correct cost allocation including accruals, reconciliations, and fund management with variance analysis to identify and mitigate cost risks
- Maintain and update Excel models for labor forecasting, hiring plans, compensation and bonus scenarios, and retail personnel cost analysis using data exported from Workforce Planning systems
- Lead compensation assessments and salary review processes, monitoring data collection and implementation to reflect local market best practices and organizational needs
- Support monthly and annual planning cycles by translating workforce changes, organizational moves, and retail initiatives into accurate personnel cost forecasts
- Analyze admin, payroll, and HRIS activities to improve and harmonize processes across the organization
- Participate actively in HR processes implementation and management, advancing digital transformation and tool integration
- Ensure adherence to wage-and-hour regulations and recommend necessary adjustments to maintain compliance
- Conduct and analyze luxury retail market salary surveys twice annually plus additional corporate sector surveys, presenting findings on an annual basis and as business needs dictate
- Assist the Director of Total Rewards with compensation review processes, salary planning, and incentive analysis by providing modeling, reporting, and financial impact analysis
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in compensation management, HR analytics, total rewards, or related role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field; certification in HR or compensation preferred
- Expert analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience in budget analytics, labor cost modeling, and workforce analytics
- Demonstrated expertise in budget management and forecasting, including annual budget planning, projections, and variance analysis
- Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws, HR regulations, and HR policy frameworks
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, SAP, ADP, payroll software, and similar employee management platforms
- Proven knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance best practices
- Experience developing and implementing innovative solutions with demonstrated ability to move from ideation to execution
- Strong project and change management skills with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling; strong command of Word and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to build data models and interactive dashboards in Excel supporting compensation assessments, labor cost forecasting, and risk mitigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening and ability to translate business goals into HR initiatives
- Legal authorization to work in the United States with ability to provide proof of employment eligibility upon request
Skills
Experience
5+ years of experience in compensation management, HR analytics, total rewards administration, payroll operations, or a related human resources function within a multi-location or international organization.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field. Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SHRM-CP) or compensation/benefits (CCP) is preferred but not required if equivalent professional experience is demonstrated.
