OTB / Staff International in Milan seeks a Product Development Intern — Footwear to support sampling, tech-packs and supplier coordination.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the footwear product development team in the end-to-end sample cycle, from initial prototype to production-ready sample.
  • Prepare and maintain technical packs, Bill of Materials (BOM) and specification sheets for footwear styles.
  • Liaise with internal design, materials and sourcing teams and with external ateliers and suppliers to track sample progress and resolve technical queries.
  • Assist in fit sessions and record fit/quality feedback; follow up on corrective actions and iterative sampling.
  • Manage the physical sample library and digital documentation, ensuring version control and traceability.
  • Contribute to cost and material follow-ups and support basic costing exercises under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Footwear Design, Fashion Product Development, Industrial Design or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of footwear construction, lasts, patterning and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to translate design intent into clear technical documentation.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple concurrent sample-related tasks.
  • Professional communication skills; ability to coordinate with suppliers and cross-functional internal teams.

Experience
