OTB (Staff International) in Milan seeks a Pre‑assembly Operator (Addetto Premontaggio) to prepare garment components for production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and organise components for the production line according to technical packs and work orders.
- Perform pre‑assembly operations such as edge finishing, basting, marking, and partial stitching to specification.
- Operate and maintain basic industrial sewing machines and hand tools used in pre‑assembly tasks.
- Inspect materials and semi‑finished parts for conformity to quality standards; identify and report defects.
- Collaborate with cutters, patternmakers and assemblers to ensure smooth handover of prepared components.
- Keep accurate production records, track usage of materials and escalate delays or shortages to line supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe and ergonomically sound workstation and follow all company health & safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Vocational diploma or equivalent in textiles, fashion technology, or a mechanical/industrial discipline preferred.
- Demonstrable manual dexterity and fine motor skills with experience handling fabrics, leathers or small components.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings, work orders and follow step‑by‑step assembly instructions.
- Commitment to consistent quality, punctuality and adherence to production schedules.
- Willingness to work on a manufacturing shop floor and follow established safety procedures.

Experience
Previous experience in garment, leather goods or accessory production (pre‑assembly, sewing or preparatory roles) is preferred; typically 1–3 years on a production floor or in a tailoring/workshop environment.
Education
Vocational diploma in textiles/fashion technology or equivalent; on‑the‑job training accepted for candidates with relevant practical experience.
