Role & Responsibilities

  • Translate design sketches and concept directions into accurate flat patterns and draped prototypes for womenswear collections.
  • Develop and refine patterns through fittings and iterative sample cycles, ensuring silhouette and fit fidelity to the maison’s aesthetic.
  • Produce graded patterns and clear technical packs for production, including seam allowances, notches, and construction notes.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, sample room, sewing technicians and external suppliers to resolve construction challenges and material-specific behaviours.
  • Manage pattern versioning and maintain pattern archives and sample tracking for assigned styles.
  • Participate in fit sessions, provide constructive feedback, and implement alterations to achieve required standards.
  • Ensure consistency of fit across sizes and collections while respecting artisanal techniques and experimental approaches characteristic of the brand.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pattern maker or cutter in luxury womenswear (typically 3+ years).
  • Demonstrable portfolio of patterns, samples and fit outcomes for high-end garments.
  • Advanced knowledge of garment construction, draping and grading principles.
  • Strong understanding of fabric behaviour, pattern adaptation for unconventional materials and complex finishes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with design, production and external ateliers under tight timelines.
