OTB Group seeks an Inventory & Capex Analyst in New York, USA to manage inventory, open-to-buy and capex across retail, wholesale and e-commerce.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform inventory reconciliations and variance analysis, including coordination of physical stock counts and follow-up on discrepancies.
  • Prepare and monitor inventory KPIs and management dashboards (accuracy, ageing, DOI, stock coverage, sell-through) to support operational and commercial decisions.
  • Support inventory valuation and provisioning for shrinkage, slow-moving and damaged stock; ensure proper accounting treatment for inventory balances.
  • Analyze inventory trends and gross margin performance across brands, channels and markets to identify risks and optimisation opportunities.
  • Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) budgets: track actuals vs forecast, highlight risks/opportunities and recommend purchasing or replenishment actions to optimise stock levels.
  • Monitor and analyse CAPEX spend related to store openings, refurbishments, fixtures and IT assets; track CAPEX budgets versus actuals and support post-implementation reviews.
  • Support store opening investment projects and provide consolidated reporting and dashboards for senior management.
  • Maintain inventory governance and internal controls; support Finance during monthly closes (inventory balances, provisions, depreciation and amortisation) and ensure compliance with corporate and local policies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain and Retail teams to ensure data accuracy and operational alignment.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, auditing or working capital management, ideally within luxury or premium retail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Deep knowledge of retail operations, stock flows and inventory control frameworks.
  • Knowledge of leasing accounting; IFRS 16 is a plus.
  • Proven experience with ERP, POS and inventory management systems—hands-on with S4HANA and SAP Sales and Distribution preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong data‑analysis capabilities.
  • Experience using BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau for reporting and dashboards.
  • High attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and capacity to build effective cross-functional relationships.
