HR Generalist at OTB Spa in New York: lead employee relations, recruitment, and talent management for international fashion brands including Diesel and Marni.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead employee relations meetings, investigations, and cases independently from scheduling through resolution, including corrective action and coaching decisions
- Conduct ER investigation interviews and difficult conversations with employees independently, escalating complex or high-risk matters to HR leadership
- Prepare and maintain accurate, confidential ER case documentation and materials, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards
- Independently interpret and apply HR policy to specific employee situations, escalating only ambiguous or complex matters to HR leadership
- Manage the full employee administrative lifecycle for assigned brands or client groups, including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and leave coordination
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment logistics for retail leadership and select corporate roles, including scheduling, candidate communication, and offer letter drafting
- Organize and coordinate manager training sessions on HR topics, policy changes, and workplace conduct under HR leadership direction
- Administer HR projects including policy rollouts, engagement survey action planning, and workforce planning exercises
- Compile HR metrics and data into leadership-ready reporting, including turnover, engagement, and headcount analysis
- Manage the internship program end-to-end, including recruitment, onboarding, rotation scheduling, mentorship coordination, and conversion tracking
- Lead employee engagement initiatives including Years of Service recognition, DEI programs, internal communications, newsletters, and company announcements
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy and integrity through regular audits, ensuring current and reliable information across brand and corporate systems
- Support talent management administration, including scheduling and materials preparation for succession planning and performance calibration sessions
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of progressive HR experience with demonstrated independent ownership of employee relations, coaching, and investigations
- Retail or luxury retail/fashion experience strongly preferred, with comfort operating across multiple brands and North American markets (US/Canada/Mexico)
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, or SuccessFactors
- Strong working knowledge of employment law across supported North American markets
- Proficiency in documenting sensitive or emotionally charged conversations with accuracy and objectivity
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel for leadership-level materials
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven ER-facing coaching and investigations experience
- Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment with highly confidential information
- Strong project leadership capabilities with ability to manage multiple initiatives independently under general direction
- Legal authorization to work in the United States at time of application with ability to provide proof of employment eligibility
