OTB seeks a General Accounting Coordinator in Milan, Italy — responsible for general ledger management, month‑end close and reconciliations.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure daily accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with internal policies.
- Lead month‑end and year‑end closing tasks: prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and prepayments; reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice validation, payment runs, credit control and aging analysis.
- Perform bank, cash and intercompany reconciliations and resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Prepare supporting schedules and analysis for statutory reports, consolidated closing and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/Italian GAAP) and tax regulations; support VAT and tax filings as required.
- Collaborate with procurement, commercial and regional finance teams to streamline transactional flows and implement process improvements.
- Contribute to ERP/financial system configuration, testing and continuous optimisation; document accounting procedures and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a closely related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger processes, month‑end close and reconciliations.
- Practical familiarity with IFRS and local accounting/tax compliance.
- Proven capability using ERP systems (experience with SAP preferred) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and organisational discipline to manage competing month‑end priorities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to liaise with cross‑functional and international stakeholders.

Experience
Approximately 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a multinational fashion house, retail group or other consumer goods environment. Prior exposure to ERP implementations and cross‑border accounting is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent.
