OTB Group seeks a Cybersecurity Specialist in Milan to manage SOC relations, monitor threats and lead vulnerability management.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as primary contact for the outsourced SOC, monitor service KPIs and drive continuous service improvements.
- Continuously monitor network traffic, system logs and security alerts to detect threats and anomalies.
- Collaborate with the SOC and IT teams to investigate incidents, perform risk assessments and implement remediation strategies.
- Design, implement, maintain and evolve security tooling including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS and proxy solutions.
- Manage configuration, patching, monitoring and tuning of vulnerability and application scanning platforms; support remediation efforts across teams.
- Participate in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify weaknesses.
- Contribute to the definition, rollout and enforcement of security policies, standards and procedures.
- Develop and run a Security Awareness Programme to educate employees on best practices, social engineering risks and password hygiene.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years' professional experience in cybersecurity, SOC or incident response functions.
- Proven experience with SIEM solutions such as Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Hands‑on experience with Firewall, WAF, VPN, IDS/IPS, EDR, EPP, DLP, SWG, CASB, NAC and IAM technologies.
- Practical knowledge of penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, SOAR, patch management, DDoS mitigation, DNS security and cloud security controls.
- Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and a threat intelligence framework such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Operational experience supporting mixed environments (Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Macintosh OSX, Linux and mobile operating systems).
- Strong collaboration skills, ability to manage multiple priorities autonomously and a self‑directed appetite for technical learning.
- Professional security certifications (e.g., CompTIA CySA+, GSEC, CEH) preferred.

Minimum of three years' hands‑on experience in cybersecurity roles such as SOC analyst, incident responder or security engineer, with demonstrable exposure to SIEM operations, vulnerability management and security tool deployment.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity or a related discipline preferred; equivalent professional experience and industry certifications accepted.
