Role & Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated cutting of leather and other materials in accordance with production plans.
- Select and assess the quality of materials prior to cutting, identifying defects and reporting non-conforming parts.
- Optimize the placement of pieces to minimize waste and enhance production efficiency.
- Conduct quality control on cut materials to ensure compliance with specified standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues and department heads to ensure smooth production progress.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the cutting department of a footwear or leather goods manufacturer.
- Proficiency in manual leather cutting with a knife is advantageous.
- Excellent knowledge of various types of leather and the most suitable cutting techniques for each material.
- Experience in operating and adjusting automatic cutting machines.
- Ability to recognize defects and imperfections in materials.
