Maison Margiela seeks an Assistant Store Manager to lead and inspire the store team, drive sales and operational excellence, and deliver personalized luxury service to high-net-worth clients. The role covers team development, clienteling, store operations, visual merchandising, financial oversight, and business growth; salary is $75,000–$80,000, salaried exempt.

Role & Responsibilities

• Support the team in achieving individual and store sales targets.
• Communicate and track store sales and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing context and rationale for business results.
• Review store schedules weekly to ensure appropriate coverage and payroll management.
• Monitor and control expenses to ensure the store meets its expense budgets.
• Participate in store operations, including recruiting and training associates, coordinating store logistics, and ensuring the store is fully operational.
• Foster an inspiring environment for engagement and learning that enables team members to realize their potential.
• Manage team recruitment, development, and performance.
• Deliver an elevated, personalized luxury experience to high-net-worth clients.
• Build and maintain client relationships through CRM strategies and personalized follow-ups.
• Ensure the team delivers superior product knowledge and exceptional client service.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to maintain a motivated, engaged team.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment aligned with brand values.
• Oversee daily operations, including inventory management, cash handling, and stock replenishment.
• Maintain luxury brand standards through visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and loss-prevention measures.
• Analyze sales reports and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and drive business growth.
• Assist the Store Manager in executing marketing and promotional strategies.
• Develop and implement initiatives to increase foot traffic and client loyalty.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of retail experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong understanding of luxury clientele, high-touch service, and clienteling techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to drive sales and meet or exceed targets.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and retail POS software.
• Passion for luxury fashion, fine jewelry, watches, or lifestyle products.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and early or late shifts as needed.
• Financial management experience.
• Ethical conduct and the ability to lead by example.
• Learning orientation and the ability to train and teach.
• Leadership skills and comfort with difficult conversations.
• Strong market awareness and networking skills.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and able to provide proof of employment eligibility upon request.
