OTB / Marni — Assistant Buyer in Milan. Support assortment planning, purchase orders and vendor relations for Marni's seasonal collections.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the buying team in assortment planning and seasonal range development for ready-to-wear and accessories.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders, manage order confirmations and monitor delivery schedules to ensure collection timetables are met.
  • Maintain inventory controls and report on sell-through, stock positions and open-to-buy to inform buying decisions.
  • Collaborate with design, production and merchandising teams to translate creative direction into commercial assortments.
  • Analyse sales data, market trends and competitor activity to produce forecasts and recommend replenishment or markdown strategies.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal sourcing teams on lead times, quality issues and cost variances.
  • Coordinate sample requests, fittings and quality reviews during pre-production and production phases.
  • Support pricing, margin analysis and line plan reconciliation; prepare regular buying reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in fashion buying, merchandising or wholesale; luxury or premium brand experience preferred.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with experience producing forecasts, margin analysis and assortment plans.
  • Effective communicator with proven ability to liaise with designers, suppliers and commercial teams.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple seasonal deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of buying calendars, seasonal range development and retail KPIs.
