OTB — Milan: Chargée d'Archives (Archivist) role to manage, preserve and digitise the group's physical and digital fashion archives.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage, organise and preserve the company's physical and digital archival collections, including garments, sketches, photographs, press clippings and corporate records.
  • Develop and maintain descriptive metadata, classification schemes and finding aids in accordance with archival standards to ensure discoverability and long‑term access.
  • Plan and execute digitisation and preservation projects, overseeing digitisation workflows, quality control and file management for long‑term digital preservation.
  • Coordinate loans, research requests and internal access, liaising with design, marketing, legal and communications teams to support creative reuse and heritage projects.
  • Implement and update archival policies and conservation protocols, supervising handling, storage and environmental control best practices for sensitive materials.
  • Curate internal exhibitions and displays, and produce research dossiers, inventories and documentation to support product development, marketing and heritage initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in archival studies, library and information science, art history, conservation or a closely related discipline; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum three years' professional experience in archives, collections management or museum practice; experience within fashion, luxury or cultural heritage institutions is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of archival standards and metadata schemas (e.g., ISAD(G), EAD, Dublin Core, METS/PREMIS).
  • Proven experience managing digitisation projects and digital preservation workflows.
  • Excellent organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in archival studies, library and information science, history, art history, conservation or equivalent; a master's degree or professional archival qualification is preferred.
