Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic testing, timing control and quality verification on mechanical and quartz movements using laboratory instruments.
  • Disassemble, service, adjust and reassemble movements and complete watch assemblies to brand standards.
  • Operate and maintain metrology and timing equipment (e.g. timegrapher, microscopes, ultrasonic cleaners) and ensure calibration records are up to date.
  • Execute final quality control procedures, document test results and generate accurate laboratory reports in accordance with internal procedures.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D and after-sales teams to support root-cause analyses and continuous product or process improvements.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, inventory of consumables and compliance with occupational health and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Recognised watchmaking qualification (e.g. Swiss Federal diploma/CFC in watchmaking, WOSTEP or equivalent).
  • Proven manual dexterity and fine-motor skills for micro-assembly and regulation.
  • Practical knowledge of movement regulation, lubrication, assembly/disassembly techniques and basic metallurgy relevant to horology.
  • Familiarity with horological test equipment (timegrapher, loupe/microscope, ultrasonic cleaner, calipers/micrometers) and basic troubleshooting of instrumentation.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow precise written procedures; strong attention to detail.
  • Professional attitude to quality, traceability and documentation; adherence to safety and cleanroom-like practices.
  • Working knowledge of German or French is desirable given Biel/Bienne’s bilingual environment; English proficiency advantageous.
