OMEGA seeks a Watch Technician in Melbourne, Australia — The Swatch Group (Australia) PTY. LTD. is recruiting a qualified watchmaker for authorised service.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, disassembly, repair, overhaul and reassembly of mechanical and quartz watch movements to OMEGA service standards.
  • Regulate and time movements using a timegrapher and make fine adjustments to meet brand accuracy specifications.
  • Execute case and bracelet refurbishment including ultrasonic cleaning, polishing and finishing to restore aesthetic condition.
  • Conduct water‑resistance testing and sealing procedures using pressure‑testing equipment and document results.
  • Complete mandatory service paperwork and technical records in accordance with Swatch Group after‑sales protocols.
  • Maintain and calibrate watchmaking tools and workshop equipment; ensure a clean, organized and compliant bench area.
  • Collaborate with client relations and retail teams to provide clear technical explanations, service estimates and turnaround times.
  • Escalate non‑standard repairs to senior technicians or central service centres and follow approved repair pathways.

Qualifications

  • Formal watchmaking qualification (WOSTEP, Swiss diploma, or equivalent) or completion of an accredited apprenticeship.
  • Proven competency in servicing Swiss mechanical and quartz calibres; factory training or manufacturer‑specific courses preferred.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, visual acuity and attention to micro‑mechanical detail.
  • Familiarity with technical service documentation and ability to follow brand repair protocols precisely.
  • Valid right to work in Australia and ability to comply with local workplace safety standards.
