OMEGA (Swatch Group) in London seeks a Communications Manager (maternity cover) to lead PR, media relations and brand communications.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and implement the UK communications strategy for OMEGA during the maternity cover period, ensuring coherent brand narratives across consumer, trade and corporate channels.
- Manage media relations across national and lifestyle press: draft press releases, secure editorial coverage and brief journalists and influencers.
- Plan and deliver PR activity for product launches, press previews, events and ambassador activations in the UK market.
- Coordinate messaging and timing with global Swatch Group teams and regional marketing colleagues to ensure alignment with international campaigns.
- Oversee relationships with external PR agencies, freelance contributors and production partners; manage deliverables, contracts and budgets.
- Prepare briefing materials, Q&As, executive statements and spokespeople talking points; support spokespeople at events and interviews.
- Lead issue and crisis communications response in market, draft holding statements and escalate where appropriate.
- Develop and edit high-quality editorial content for owned channels and support social media and digital teams with press-facing assets.
- Monitor media coverage, extract insights and produce regular performance reports and KPI analysis for senior stakeholders.
- Support internal communications to keep retail, wholesale and customer-facing teams informed of product and brand news.
Qualifications
- Proven communications or PR experience within luxury goods, watches, jewellery or premium lifestyle brands.
- Established media relationships across UK lifestyle, fashion and watch press.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills with demonstrated ability to produce press releases, briefings and executive communications.
- Experience managing PR agencies, external suppliers and event delivery.
- Demonstrable experience in issue and crisis communications with sound judgement under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, retail, legal and product teams.
- Availability to commence work on short notice for a fixed-term maternity cover assignment.
Skills
Experience
Typically 5+ years in communications, public relations or corporate communications roles with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity; prior experience in luxury goods, watches or premium lifestyle brands is strongly preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related discipline.
