Role & Responsibilities

  • Train toward the Swiss Federal VET qualification (CFC) in IT while rotating through practical tasks within the IT department.
  • Provide first‑line user support: diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for internal users.
  • Assemble, configure and maintain workstations, peripherals and mobile devices; install operating systems and standard applications.
  • Assist with basic network setup and cabling, and support routine network and server maintenance under supervision.
  • Document incidents, configuration changes and standard operating procedures; maintain inventory of IT equipment.
  • Participate in department projects and vocational school coursework; apply learning to day‑to‑day operational tasks.
  • Adhere to company quality, safety and data protection standards.

Qualifications

  • Completed compulsory schooling (suitable grades in mathematics and technical subjects are advantageous).
  • Strong interest in information technology, electronics and problem solving.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail suited to hardware assembly and small‑scale technical tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual and prepared to combine on‑the‑job training with vocational school attendance.
  • Good interpersonal skills and a service‑oriented attitude for supporting internal users.

Skills

PC hardware assembly and troubleshooting Windows Microsoft Office Basic networking (TCP/IP) and cabling User support / helpdesk fundamentals

Experience

No prior professional IT experience is required; practical exposure through school projects, personal tinkering, internships, or hobbyist work in computers or electronics is advantageous.

Education

Completion of compulsory secondary education required; candidate must be eligible for a Swiss apprenticeship programme leading to a CFC (Federal VET Certificate).
